London-based artist management company, Perfect Havoc has signed breakout singer-songwriter, Lusaint to its talent roster. The young Manchester artist has been making an impact with acoustic covers that include ‘More Than Friends’ (James Hype), ‘Wicked Game’ (Chris Isaak) and ‘Crazy In Love’ (Beyoncé) and so far achieved over 20million streams globally and broken UK Shazam records.
Plans are already in place to release Lusaint’s debut single later this year. With the creativity to reimagine popular melody, distinctive tone, and emotional presence beyond her years, Lusaint’s covers have received support on BBC 6Music, Radio X and BBC Introducing. Her rework of ‘More Than Friends’ –originally by En Vogue as ‘Don’t Let Go (Love)’ – rose to prominence in 2019after featuring on ITV’s Love Island and was subsequently the most Shazam’d song in one day in the UK with over 45k Shazams.
Perfect Havoc clearly has a knack for finding new talent early on and Lusaint is definitely the next one to watch from the Perfect Havoc camp. They will continue to sign and release tracks from crossover dance music producers, a strategy which has seen the label achieve unrivalled success throughout 2019-2021. The Perfect Havoc label currently sits on over 3 billion streams and six Official UK Top 20singles including No.19 hit ‘Fake Friends’ from American producer PS1 featuring Alex Hosking, the biggest UK dance single of 2020 by Joel Corry & MNEK ‘Head & Heart’, which certified triple platinum in the UK and has achieved over 1 billion streams globally. And Joel Corry’s latest hit with Jax Jones ‘OUTOUT’ (feat. Charli XCX & Saweetie) which currently sits at No. 6 in the Official UK Charts just under three weeks from its release in partnership with Asylum Records.
Perfect Havoc founders, Robert Davies and Adam Griffin, are no strangers to marketing and project managing some of pop music’s most recognisable artists and singles. For 11 years in marketing on Sony’s main pop label, RCA, Griffin looked after major US artists for the UK territory such as Beyoncé, Britney Spears and John Legend, while product managing numerous hits including Madcon ‘Beggin’ (UKNo.5) and Rogue Traders ‘Voodoo Child’ (UK No.3).
Davies nurtured talent from the early age of 21, starting at Sony Music where he met Griffin at RCA, later assisting at Syco on X Factor in 2018 to then running his own independent pop label and signing to Notting Hill Music Publishing as a writer/ producer.
Both founders are clear that the Perfect Havoc label and management company is not switching direction, but instead, growing its services to work with the type of artists who already complement the genres where it has been successful to date.
Robert Davies explained, “When we came across Lusaint we were stunned by her voice and song writing abilities and knew instantly that we had to work with her. Having broken Joel Corry and PS1 in the dance space, we are excited to have found an artist such as Lusaint outside of dance but that still complements our core business. We are looking forward to this new challenge.”
Lusaint is performing live with a forthcoming gig at The Grace, London on September 29thsupporting Brazilian nu-pop artist, Nonô. Tickets are available here: https://bit.ly/NonoLDN
